Taste Me
Taste Me is a reflection on how sexualized marketing turns the female body into a product for consumption, and food into a metaphor for desire. Inspired by the aesthetics of food porn and advertising clichés, I exaggerate and push to the point of absurdity the language through which the industry sells not so much food as pleasure.
In a series self-portrait, I literally become food, visually quoting stereotypes such as “she is tasty” or “she is juicy.” I create generative images with Midjourney, using real sexualized advertising slogans as text prompts. These visualizations reproduce the logic of advertising and drive it to the level of grotesque.
By mimicking the seductive surface of advertising, the project simultaneously destroys it from within, evoking discomfort rather than desire. Through visual grotesquery, it makes visible what is typically perceived as normal: how commercial culture naturally transforms the female body into a product for consumption.
